Medical Insurance
Out-patient
When purchasing an inpatient plan it is often possible to obtain outpatient coverage. Outpatient treatment is any medical procedure where hospitalization is not medically necessary and as such most outpatient plans will cover routine checkups and doctors visits, prescription medicines, alternative therapies, and specialist consultations.
Outpatient coverage is not included as a standard policy benefit in most plans, but can typically be obtained for an increased annual premium. Many international health insurance plans provide generous outpatient benefits which should cover most outpatient treatments. The total reimbursement limit for particular treatments often depends upon the annual maximum reimbursement amount, so it is advisable to check what limits may be included.
The typical coverage benefits offered with an outpatient plan include:
- Routine health check-ups
- Medical practitioner and specialist fees
- Prescription medications
- Diagnostic tests, including X-rays
- Vaccinations
- Home nursing
- Alternative treatments
As there are many international health insurance plans available, making the right decision can be difficult. Contact Kwiksure to speak with an advisor about what international health insurance plan and outpatient coverage options are right for you.
