The number of newly registered electric vehicles (EVs) in Hong Kong has been hitting record highs, with over 3,000 new EV registrations recorded in December last year alone. To attract the growing number of EV owners, many shopping malls now offer EV-related perks, such as parking discounts, allowing EV owners to charge their vehicles conveniently while reducing parking costs.
This time, Kwiksure shares the EV parking discounts offered by two major mall operators, Sino Group and Link REIT, along with application guides.
Sino Group offers EV owners a 20% discount on hourly parking rates. With shopping malls, commercial buildings, and residential properties spanning Hong Kong, Kowloon, and the New Territories, the locations are highly convenient. Since EV charging typically takes several hours or more, this discount can significantly reduce costs for EV owners.
Please note that this EV parking discount is only available to private EV owners. Applicants must use a registered Octopus card for parking entry, exit, and payment. Each applicant can register only one Octopus card and one vehicle license plate number. Additionally, the applicant must be the registered owner listed on the vehicle registration document. The promotion is valid from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024.

Many Link REIT car parks are equipped with EV charging facilities, making them a top choice for EV owners. For the third consecutive year, Link REIT is offering EV parking discounts. Simply spend at designated car parks to enjoy up to three hours of free parking and charging. However, this discount applies to only 14 car parks. Pre-registration and the use of a registered Octopus card are required. To enjoy three hours of free parking and charging, the following conditions must be met:
